Who doesn’t love the idea that there are fairies at the bottom of the garden?
At Kiln Farm Nursery some of us have never grown out of the idea that fairies exist! For some of us fairies are magical creatures who care for nature and wildlife in a similar way to that which Angels are said to care for humans.
Creating fairy and mythical gardens is a great way to garden and to introduce children to the fun of gardening and the nature around them. We have an enormous selection of tiny doors, fairy and gnome tools, houses, benches, signs, wishing wells and miniature animals to place in the garden. We love to help you choose plants that will do well in a miniature garden that give a sense of scenery and protection for magical creatures.
This is a project for boys and girls, young and old and it doesn’t need to be pink and glittery! We have dragons and trolls, gnomes and unicorns too. It is all about creating the magic!
Many people like to create their own fairy gardens, but if you would like to join a workshop, Ruth runs workshops during school holidays. Watch out on Facebook for the next event. BOOKING ESSENTIAL as places are limited. We have had children as young as three and retired people creating their own gardens so it really is for everyone. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Workshops cost £16.50 and this includes a decorative container, compost, plants, fairy woodchip, grit and wood stepping stones and £5 towards any Miniature World products you would like to use on the day. Workshops usually last between one and two hours. It just depends how long you want to spend making sure the garden is just right.
